My Training style
Honestly, it changes every day of the week! I love getting better at things I’ve been doing for years, like improving my squat or deadlift. Equally, I love going off on a tangent and finding something new to learn like calisthenics or gymnastics skills. It keeps me on my toes (and hands sometimes - handstand joke!) and reminds me what it feels like to be a beginner at something. It’s important to remember when I’m training people who’ve only just walked into the gym for the first time. I also love getting outside & doing a bit of exercise that doesn’t feel like exercise at all. Training might be hard, it my hurt, it might be mentally and physically challenging… but it should NEVER be a chore.
My fitness philosophy
Mental fitness & physical fitness – equally important, but I see people injecting all their time and effort into the latter and neglecting their mental health. In my experience it’s almost impossible to be successful in one, without having an awareness of the other.
Moving your body is important. Eating well is important. Getting enough sleep is important. Taking time for yourself, as well as making time for people who bring out the best in you. Fitness is about finding balance, and most importantly being kind to yourself no matter what stage you’re at. So, if you’re just at the beginning of your fitness journey, be prepared to have a look at where you are now, where you want to be, and what you’re prepared to change to get there.
My Favourite Workout
Everything. All of it. EXCEPT anything on the assault bike. That thing is evil. Doesn’t mean I won’t make you use it though ;)

"Katie has been so supportive over my journey thus far. She listened to what I was wanting to achieve and has created workouts that are exactly right for me. I now feel confident when I walk into the gym because I know what to do, how to use the scary machines, and most importantly I know I’m doing it all correctly. Having Katie as a PT is more like working out with a really great friend... a really great friend who pushes you to your limits and makes you hurt... but in a good way! I originally only signed up for 8 weeks, but here I am 16 weeks later and not looking to leave any time soon. Katie has helped me find my motivation again. I came to Katie as someone who couldn’t even squat... you should see me now!"
